Local students spend a day learning about the rodeo

Students were invited to their own personal rodeo by the Professional Cowboy Association.

Students learned how to say yee-haw and rope a calf, thanks to the Professional Cowboy Association.

Each year the PCA Rodeo invites students from local schools to have a front row view to the rodeo, where they are able to learn everything from the breed of a horse to how to spin a lasso.

One arrested, one wanted in fatal Gulfport shooting

SUMMARY: A fatal shooting occurred in Gulfport on April 28, 2025, when suspects Paul Ravin Martin Jr. and Kevin Eugene James opened fire on individuals in the Holly Circle area. Three victims were injured, and 16-year-old Cobi Earnest later died from gunshot wounds. Martin, 23, was arrested and charged with First-Degree Murder, Shooting into a Dwelling, and three counts of Aggravated Assault. He was out on bond for a previous drive-by shooting.
