The targeted vehicles are turnkey Kias or Hyundais from 2011-2022, and criminals only need a screwdriver and a USB cord to steal them. The police department advises car owners to use steering wheel locks, video surveillance, and maintain good relationships with neighbors to protect their vehicles. This trend is not limited to Jackson and is a nationwide issue.
