SUMMARY: A New York jury has begun deliberations in the racketeering and sex trafficking trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs after over a month of graphic evidence and testimony. The jury must unanimously decide if Combs participated in a criminal enterprise committing at least two crimes over ten years, with alleged offenses including kidnapping and arson. Combs also faces sex trafficking charges related to two former girlfriends. While the defense admitted Combs had a violent past and drug issues, they argued the women were willing participants. Prosecutors accuse Combs of victim blaming and allege he evaded justice for 20 years.
It is now up to a New York jury to decide if Sean “Diddy” Combs is guilty of racketeering and sex trafficking. It comes after more than a month of sometimes graphic evidence and testimony.

UGA, USC join 4 states to form new accrediting agency
SUMMARY: The Texas A\&M System is joining five other Republican-led state university systems to create a new accreditation agency called the Commission for Public Higher Education. This move responds to GOP criticism of existing accrediting bodies, which are accused of promoting liberal bias and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs. Texas A\&M and other public universities currently accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) are not leaving it yet. The new agency aims to offer a more transparent, less cumbersome accreditation option, though federal and state recognition could take two years. The effort follows recent Texas legislation allowing universities to choose alternative accreditors. Critics question the need for the new agency, noting SACSCOC does not require DEI for accreditation.

Yes, the chance of rain is a true percentage of when you might see rain
SUMMARY: Meteorologist Jennifer Bellamy and chief meteorologist Chris Holcomb clarify that the chance of rain percentages shown on 11 Alive forecasts represent the true likelihood of measurable rain (0.1 inch or more) occurring in a specific area during a given timeframe. A 40% chance means there is a 40% probability that you personally will experience rain—not that 40% of the area will get rain or that it will rain for 40% of the day. Their calculations consider factors like area size, expected rainfall amount, and confidence in precipitation reaching the location. So, when you see a rain percentage on 11 Alive, it’s a real chance you might encounter rain.
It’s that time of year again! Georgia is seeing many pop-up showers and storms. Here’s what a chance of rain actually means.
