Jay's 11 p.m. Weather for Friday 05/23/25
SUMMARY: Tonight’s weather is calm with no rain, but temperatures are cool around 48°F, so a jacket is recommended. Winds from the west-southwest blow at 7 mph, creating a noticeable wind chill unusually late in May. Showers from a previous storm are moving northeast, mostly missing the area due to low humidity. A new system from the west will bring showers and isolated thunderstorms starting Saturday evening through Monday morning, with clearing afterward. Memorial Day morning should remain dry, with afternoon showers possible. Tomorrow will be mostly sunny and cool, reaching highs near 66°F. An active weather pattern continues through the week with temperatures near 70°F.

It’s a cool night around the region, and a slight breeze makes it feel even cooler. It will also be dry for most of the weekend before more showers make their way into the region Sunday evening.

SUMMARY: Michael Garrison, 23, competes in the USA Cycling Pro Road National Championship, inspired by his late father’s love of cycling. After his dad passed from cancer when Michael was eight, he was raised by his mother with strong work ethic and discipline. Instead of staying in a hotel, Michael stayed with the Walters family in Charleston, who welcomed him like a son. Their support, including access to a garage and a home environment, helped him maintain routine and focus before the race. Michael’s goal is not only to win but also to inspire young athletes to believe in themselves and pursue their dreams.
