Is America’s dirtiest lake in Florida? That’s what this new study says
SUMMARY: A recent study by Lake.com analyzed federal chemical data from 46 large U.S. lakes to determine cleanliness based on eight factors including lead, phosphorus, and turbidity. Lake Okeechobee in Florida ranked as the dirtiest, with high pollutant levels, including 0.67 µg/L of lead and significant phosphorus causing algae blooms and murky water. Florida’s Lake George also ranked high in pollution. Harmful algae blooms, fueled by phosphorus and nitrogen, threaten aquatic life by depleting oxygen. Flagler school district plans bus safety overhaul with new communication system, fixed routes

What polling shows about Trump’s pivot from immigration to crime
SUMMARY: President Donald Trump has shifted his focus from immigration to crime, boosting his approval ratings. A recent AP-NORC poll shows 53% of U.S. adults approve of his tough-on-crime approach, surpassing support for his handling of immigration, the economy, or the Russia-Ukraine war. Trump’s takeover of Washington, D.C.’s police and National Guard deployment, despite violent crime declines and local opposition, highlights this pivot. Meanwhile, public support for his aggressive immigration policies is waning, with controversies over deportations and federal agents stirring backlash. Trump’s crime focus aligns with Republican strengths and aims to dominate the agenda ahead of the 2026 midterms.
