Dreaming of Fall? Here’s what the season may hold
SUMMARY: The CSRA’s fall outlook shows typical September highs around 91°F with 3.6″ rain, cooling through November to highs near 65°F and lows near 39°F. Currently in an ENSO-neutral phase, a weak La Niña may develop late fall, slightly influencing weather. The Climate Prediction Center favors a 40-50% chance of warmer-than-average temperatures from September to November. Precipitation forecasts are uncertain: southern counties may see wetter conditions, but rainfall heavily depends on the Atlantic hurricane season. The European model supports warmer, drier conditions due to high pressure. Overall, expect a warmer fall with variable rainfall influenced by tropical activity.
