Important deadlines for Mississippi’s 2023 primary election

SUMMARY: The primary election voter registration deadline in Mississippi is this upcoming Monday. To be eligible to vote on August 8, individuals must either register in person at the circuit or municipal clerk’s office by 5 PM on Monday or mail registration applications postmarked no later than July 10. Absentee ballots are now available through the county circuit clerk’s office, both in-person and by mail. In-person absentee voting dates are July 29 and August 5 from 8 AM until noon. Eligibility for absentee voting can be verified through the Secretary of State’s step-by-step absentee guide on their website. The primary election results will be announced on August 8.
