I-Team: Screaming match caught on camera at Jonesboro City Council meeting
SUMMARY: A heated power struggle in Jonesboro, involving the mayor and city council, escalated during a public meeting captured on video. The council accused the mayor of bullying and racism, while the mayor claimed they were trying to undermine her authority. Tensions arose over proposed changes to the Ethics Committee aimed at curbing the mayor’s power. The council previously hired an attorney to investigate allegations against her, including claims of pointing a gun at a police officer, which were unfounded. The dispute highlights a broader conflict over governance style in the city, with the council seeking increased oversight.

Supeme Court allows states to cut Medicaid funding for Planned Parenthood
SUMMARY: The U.S. Supreme Court ruled 6-3 that states can block Medicaid funding to Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider. Republicans celebrate this as a step to defund Planned Parenthood, while Democrats argue taxpayer dollars already cannot fund abortions. Planned Parenthood warns the decision could close about 200 centers, mainly in states where abortion is legal, since Medicaid supports broader healthcare services like birth control and cancer screenings. Democrats see the ruling as part of a Republican agenda to make abortion illegal. The White House supports the decision, citing religious liberty concerns. The Court’s term ends soon with more rulings pending.

When to go to the ER vs Urgent Care
SUMMARY: Urgent care centers provide treatment for non-life-threatening issues like minor allergic reactions, pink eye, fever, headaches, sprains, respiratory infections, ear and urinary tract infections, and minor wounds needing stitches. They have specific hours, are often staffed by physician assistants and nurse practitioners, and are usually less expensive. Emergency rooms, open 24/7, handle serious, life-threatening conditions including severe allergic reactions, chest pain, strokes, seizures, poisoning, serious burns, head injuries, and heart attacks. ERs offer specialized care and surgery. This guide helps you choose urgent care or ER based on the severity of your health issue.
