How to provide help to someone struggling with an eating disorder
It’s Eating Disorder Awareness Week, there are multiple eating disorders, but the most common and detrimental are anorexia and bulimia.
We are sharing tips on how to get help for someone with an eating disorder.
News 25 spoke with Gulfport Behavioral Health about treatment options available on the Coast.
While they provide several inpatient and outpatient mental health therapy programs, they recommend River Oaks in New Orleans for people with eating disorders.

The state’s attorneys argue that the law aligns with state rights, while the Republican National Committee, state Republican Party, and Libertarian Party assert that only Congress can set federal election parameters. A three-judge panel of the Fifth Circuit Court overturned an earlier ruling in favor of the state. The outcome could affect similar laws in other states. The case does not impact Mississippi’s current local elections.

SUMMARY: A fatal shooting occurred in Gulfport on April 28, 2025, when suspects Paul Ravin Martin Jr. and Kevin Eugene James opened fire on individuals in the Holly Circle area. Three victims were injured, and 16-year-old Cobi Earnest later died from gunshot wounds. Martin, 23, was arrested and charged with First-Degree Murder, Shooting into a Dwelling, and three counts of Aggravated Assault. He was out on bond for a previous drive-by shooting. James, 53, remains at large and is wanted for murder and other charges. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact Gulfport Police or Crime Stoppers.
