How many hostages are left in Gaza?

Partly cloudy and warm across South Florida, a few scattered showers possible

No alerts are currently issued for Atlantic waters or the Keys. Tropical Storm Erin remains the main focus, with models projecting a westward path influenced by high pressure, though forecasts diverge next week. Residents should stay informed and prepared.
NEXT Weather meteorologist Shane Hinton says Tuesday will be a mix of sun and clouds. A few stray showers are possible.

Summer heat, storms continue to swamp Central Florida. Here’s what to expect
SUMMARY: Central Florida will experience typical summer conditions with heat, humidity, and afternoon thunderstorms this week. Tuesday brings a southeast breeze and sea breeze along the coast, with isolated storms early afternoon becoming widespread by evening. Inland rain chances are 50-70%, coastal 30-50%, with strong storms possible including heavy rain, lightning, and wind gusts up to 40-50 mph. Highs reach low 90s by the coast and mid-90s inland, with heat indices up to 105. Rain chances remain 30-60%, mainly afternoons and evenings. By weekend, rain chances rise to 40-60%, with heat indices possibly hitting 108-110, potentially triggering a Heat Advisory. Tropical Storm Erin remains in the Atlantic, no Florida threat yet but monitoring continues.

Florida man accused of drugging, killing grandfather in hospice also charged with forgery
SUMMARY: Christopher Balter, a Florida man, was arrested for drugging and killing his hospice-bound grandfather, Gilbert Balter. Police allege Christopher gave his grandfather Ambien, not prescribed, contributing to his death alongside heart disease and other medications. The case took months to crack after a friend’s tip to authorities. In addition to drug delivery charges, Christopher faces forgery accusations for changing the deed of his grandfather’s home to his name by forging signatures. Neighbors expressed shock at the incident. Christopher, former planning and development director for Indian River County, resigned following the arrest. His next court date is pending.
A Palm Bay man is accused of drugging and killing his grandfather, who was in hospice care, and forging documents to take over the man’s home, police said.
