SUMMARY: A massive data breach has exposed 16 billion passwords from social media and other sites, making it the largest known single database of stolen credentials. Cybersecurity experts warn that most people likely have compromised passwords in the database, which contains recent—not old—passwords. Unlike typical breaches targeting one organization, this breach compiles stolen credentials from multiple sources on the dark web. Experts strongly advise changing all passwords immediately, avoiding reuse across accounts, and enabling two-factor authentication to add a security layer. Users should also avoid clicking unknown links in messages, as attackers may exploit this breach for scams.

Researchers have found that about 16 billion passwords were leaked in a recent global data breach. FOX 4 spoke with a UT Dallas expert about how you can protect your information.

SUMMARY: Seventeen-year-old Rohan Satija, recently graduated from Westwood High School, was named the 2025 Student Voice of Mental Health Award recipient by the Jed Foundation for his dedication to mental health advocacy. After moving from Auckland, New Zealand, to Austin, Texas, he faced bullying and anxiety, inspiring him to co-found the Let’s Learn Foundation with his sister. The nonprofit has donated over 60,000 books, 105,000 school supplies, and 5,000 mental health kits to more than 13,000 underserved students. Satija plans to study psychology at the University of Texas at Austin and continue expanding his foundation to support youth mental health through storytelling and therapy.
