Hot Rods Take Series-Opening Win 7-3 Over BlueClaws

SUMMARY: The Bowling Green Hot Rods defeated the Jersey Shore BlueClaws 7-3 Tuesday at Bowling Green Ballpark. Jersey Shore took an early 2-0 lead with solo homers by Carson DeMartini and Kehden Hettiger in the third inning. Bowling Green responded with four runs in the bottom of the third, fueled by a double, a single, and three RBI walks. Additional runs in the sixth extended the lead to 7-2. Jersey Shore scored once more in the ninth on a solo homer by Matt Higgins. TJ Nichols earned the win with five innings pitched, while Alex McFarlane took the loss. The series continues tomorrow afternoon.

Heat and humidity hang tough for a few more days

A strong high-pressure ridge kept sunshine and temperatures in the low 90s through midweek. A Heat Advisory remains in effect through Wednesday, with potential isolated afternoon storms offering little relief. By late Wednesday and Thursday, a cold front will bring increased rain chances and lower temperatures into the mid-80s, along with drier, more comfortable air.
