Hispanic Heritage Month Being Celebrated in Laurel

Students from pre-K to high school have come together to learn about and honor Hispanic customs, heritage, and influential individuals. The celebrations began on September 15 and included a night of music, dance, tours, and authentic food at Laurel High School. The event was organized by rising senior Salina Juarez, who wanted to bring the community together to celebrate and honor Hispanic culture. The district’s EL Coordinator, Carlina Reeves-Garcia, praised the parents, teachers, and community for their dedication in making the celebrations authentic and inclusive. The Culture Night at Laurel High School was a huge success, and the students hope to continue celebrating Hispanic heritage throughout October.

Southern Miss to Host Week of Free Band Concerts for the Whole Family
