SUMMARY: The North Carolina General Assembly unanimously approved an additional $644 million for disaster recovery, following an earlier $273 million allocation. This brings the total to nearly $900 million in response to recent disasters like Hurricane Helene and Tropical Storm Debby. House Speaker Tim Moore, alongside leaders from five southeastern states, sought federal assistance for agriculture and infrastructure. Despite Governor Cooper’s request for nearly $4 billion, this relief package aims to address budget deficits in recovery efforts while aiding affected local governments, mental health services, and other essential sectors. The initiative will support 25 counties impacted by the disasters.

NC Courage wins 2-1 against Angel City FC
