SUMMARY: A 17-year-old DeKalb County high school senior, Geronimo Edwards, was arrested near a protest on Chamblee Tucker Road while trying to go to the gym. Unaware of the protest, Edwards and a friend found the gym closed and waited at a nearby gas station for their ride when police approached. Despite telling officers they were waiting for an Uber, both were handcuffed and arrested. Edwards was charged with unlawful assembly and obstruction of law enforcement based on an accusation that he intended to throw rocks, though no rocks were found. He spent three days in jail. Police tactics are under internal review.

Now to a FOX 5 News exclusive. A DeKalb County teenager says he was just trying to go to the gym when he ended up in jail. Police arrested the seventeen-year-old high schooler near a protest on Chamblee Tucker Road earlier this month. High schooler says he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
