Greenville teen faces murder charge and $2M bond for death of 61-year-old man

A Mississippi teenager is facing a $2 million dollar bond in connection to the killing of a 61-year-old man.

19-year-old Dewayne Hemphill, a Greenville native, was found responsible for the of Ernest Davis.

On Saturday, May 20, with the Greenville Department were dispatched to the 800 block of Walthall in reference to a shot person. When the police arrived, they discovered the body of Davis lying on the ground.

No sign of Mississippi governor fulfilling pledge on campaign funds tied to welfare case

Financial documents show Reeves receiving donations totaling $2,500 from Nancy New and $6,000 from Zach New, both of whom pleaded guilty to charges in the case. Reeves's campaign has not responded to inquiries about the donations' disposition.
