Governor demands action on 'Delta 8' products
SUMMARY: Governor Stitt is demanding action on psychoactive marijuana products, specifically Delta 8 THC, which are legal and sold in gas stations and vape shops but lack full lab testing. Concerns include unregulated manufacturing, unknown potency, and contamination with heavy metals like lead and nickel. These products often give a milder high but pose safety risks, especially to young people. The Governor has asked state agencies to conduct coordinated investigations, targeted enforcement, and regulatory assessments to crack down on unlawful sales and manufacturing. The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics supports efforts to address companies circumventing laws and to protect public safety.

SGA wears Yukon teacher’s Canadian flag during parade
SUMMARY: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Oklahoma City Thunder MVP, famously wore a Canadian flag around his waist during the Thunder’s championship parade, a flag that once hung in Yukon High School government teacher Alex Shirley’s classroom. Shirley, born and raised in Oklahoma City, was amazed that his Canadian flag became part of such an iconic moment in the city’s history. The flag, originally a souvenir from a trip abroad, was requested urgently after the Thunder’s victory and ended up symbolizing a monumental celebration in a place once marked by tragedy. Shirley hopes this experience becomes a teaching moment for his students about community pride and history.
