A confirmed member of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua (TDA) was arrested in Tennessee, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI). Adelvis Rodriguez-Carmona was one of four arrested in a human trafficking bust in Chattanooga. Just days earlier, FOX13 broke the news that ICE arrested another Venezuelan gang member in Memphis. Luis Alejandro Ruiz-Godoy is being held in Louisiana while he awaits deportation.
Both arrests followed the announcement earlier this month by the head of the TBI that the gang is operating in all Tennessee’s major cities. Suspected case of bird flu detected in TN
SUMMARY: Concerns over rising egg prices have increased after a suspected bird flu case at a Tennessee commercial chicken facility last week. The state reported a significant loss of chickens, with over 100 million birds affected by various outbreaks. This has led to fewer eggs reaching the market, pushing prices up to $3.37 per dozen, up from $2 last year. Economists note that the egg industry is focusing on rebuilding flocks, which limits egg availability. Experts say bird flu poses minimal risk to humans but stress the importance of flu vaccinations over concerns about bird flu. A 6.2-mile control zone is in place.
The Tennessee Department of Agriculture said a case had been reported in a West Tennessee facility last week.
