Two days later, police arrested two men near the store impersonating security officers and presenting false IDs. One of the suspects also faces gun-related charges. Following the incident, I-270 was temporarily closed but has since reopened. Authorities are seeking public assistance to identify the suspects, and the investigation continues.

SUMMARY: Tropical Storm Chantal, now a weaker storm with 45 MPH winds, is about 95 miles off Charleston’s coast, moving north at 7 MPH. It’s expected to make landfall near Myrtle Beach late Saturday night or early Sunday morning with winds near 50 MPH, then weaken as it moves inland. Tropical storm warnings cover Wilmington to Myrtle Beach, with watches including Charleston. The main severe weather threat is south of Norfolk and Raleigh, with flooding risks moderate in Wilmington and Myrtle Beach, and lighter elsewhere. Winds gusts of 20-40 MPH and 1-4 inches of rain are expected, with a low risk of isolated tornadoes. Conditions improve by Tuesday.

Tropical Storm Chantal formed early Sunday and is expected to bring showers to southeastern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina on Sunday and Monday.
