Federal officials have arrived in Jackson amid a water crisis that left over 150,000 without reliable running water in Mississippi’s capital city.

Some appeared publicly with Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba and others with Gov. Tate Reeves on Friday, but the two did not hold a public event together, one day after they appeared side-by-side for the first time during the crisis.

Mitch Landrieu, special advisor and infrastructure coordinator at the White House, Allan Jarvis, federal coordinating officer with FEMA and U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson appeared with Lumumba as they helped volunteers…
