Jones College hosts showcase in Wayne County
SUMMARY: Jones College Wayne County Center showcased their utility lineman training program, preparing students for hazardous jobs in the workforce. Students earned multiple certifications including OSHA core, forklift, CPR, and CDL. The program focuses on teamwork and hands-on skills training, with students rotating through different stations to practice grounding and changing insulators. While job placement in the industry is currently a challenge, students have opportunities beyond working for a lineman crew.
