Few showers possible Tuesday morning

Published

on

www.youtube.com – WLKY News Louisville – 2025-05-26 22:17:23

SUMMARY: A mostly sunny Memorial Day gave way to increasing clouds and chances of rain Tuesday morning. Scattered light showers and drizzle are expected, mainly in southern and eastern areas, with heavier rain likely staying south and east of the region. Dry air from an east-northeast breeze is limiting rainfall’s reach, and no surface fronts are steering storms, causing showers to drift unpredictably. After morning rain, conditions will dry out with cloudy skies and cooler temperatures, highs in the low 70s. Light rain may linger Wednesday, with possible showers Thursday, then sunnier, warmer weather returns for the weekend with lows in the low 80s.

www.wtvq.com – T.G. Shuck – 2025-05-26 15:07:00

SUMMARY: Memorial Day in Central and Eastern Kentucky featured beautiful weather with sunshine, mild temperatures in the low 70s, and gusty east-northeast winds up to 25 mph. Outdoor activities thrived under perfect conditions. However, the dry spell ends Tuesday as a warm front and low pressure bring soaking rain and possible thunderstorms, especially in southern Kentucky with potential localized flooding. Temperatures will stay around 70°. Midweek sees fewer showers and improving weather, with Thursday being the nicest day—sunny and mild in the mid-70s. The weekend turns unsettled again with occasional showers and cooler temps in the upper 70s, reflecting early summer patterns.

SUMMARY: After a deadly tornado devastated London, Kentucky, Britney Kelly, a Mount Vernon native now living in Iran, donated her two-bedroom, two-bath mobile home to a local family who lost everything. Moved by the destruction and knowing the challenges of raising four children, she offered the trailer to a London mother of four through a widely shared Facebook post. While the mobile home is a fixer-upper, Britney is happy to provide shelter. The main obstacle is raising funds—ranging from \$300 to \$7,500—to transport and properly set up the trailer for safe living.

The effects of the recent deadly tornado have been felt far beyond the destroyed areas. Since it touched down, people from all over have been offering a helping hand.
