Dallas snow: 4 inches in some areas | FOX 7 Austin

SUMMARY: In Denton, families are enjoying a snow day with about four inches of snowfall, creating opportunities for snowball fights, snow angels, and snowman-building. With schools closed, kids are out making the most of the winter weather. However, drivers are advised to proceed cautiously on the roads, as conditions can be slick and slushy, especially in residential areas yet to be cleared. Snow plows and salt trucks are actively working on major highways, but some roadways remain challenging. For safety, it’s recommended to stay home unless travel is necessary, and to drive slowly if venturing out.

FOX’s Tisia Munzinga has a look at the winter weather from Denton.

Concern for Dallas PD response time to hit-and-run

Published

on

www.youtube.com – FOX 4 Dallas-Fort Worth – 2025-09-02 18:35:23

SUMMARY: Family members express frustration over Dallas Police Department’s delayed response to a hit-and-run crash on August 23, where a motorcyclist, Karen Williams, suffered serious injuries. The crash occurred around 12:10 p.m., but police did not respond to the hospital until 1:17 p.m., and arrived at the scene after 2 p.m. Witnesses described the reckless driver fleeing and criticized the police’s lack of urgency. Staffing issues were suggested as a cause of delay. DPD labeled the hit-and-run a priority but provided limited explanations, stating the goal response time is 12 minutes, and deferring staffing details to an open records request.

Family members are seeking answers about why it took Dallas police more than an hour to respond to a recent hit-and-run crash that left the victim with a spinal cord injury.

www.kxan.com – Amber Coakley – 2025-09-02 07:07:00

SUMMARY: Federal prosecutors in San Diego dismantled a $65 million international fraud ring targeting elderly Americans, aided by YouTube “scambaiters.” The 28 indicted members, mostly Chinese nationals, collaborated with India-based call centers using fake tech support and psychological tactics to steal money. Victims were tricked into returning supposed “extra” refunds via wire transfers, gift cards, or cash. Agencies including Homeland Security, FBI, and IRS arrested suspects across several states and seized over $4 million in assets. YouTubers from Scammer Payback and Trilogy Media helped identify key defendants by baiting scammers and exposing their operations, highlighting innovative law enforcement collaboration.
