Continental tire company opens training center
SUMMARY: Continental Tire has opened its training center in Clinton, which will boost the local economy. The facility, a partnership with Hinds Community College, will primarily focus on robotics, vertical integration, and automation. The center includes classrooms, computer labs, and technical equipment. The plant is currently under construction and is set to produce tires for commercial vehicles in 2020. It is estimated that about 400 people will be employed initially, with a goal of employing 2,500 by 2028. Governor Phil Bryant assures that Continental Tire is committed to staying in Clinton for the long term.
