Sheriff Ezell Casts Ballot For Midterm Election

Mike Ezell, who was elected to the Fourth Congressional District in Mississippi, is still waiting to be sworn into office.

The Congressman-elect — along with others elected in November — cannot be sworn in until a House Speaker is elected.

Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., has failed to gain the gavel after 11 rounds of in the House. He continues to negotiate with the 20 or so holdouts to gain the 218 votes needed to win the Speaker of the House election.
