Concerns raised after a judge ordered 30 dogs returned to the home of alleged abuser
SUMMARY: A judge ordered 30 of 34 dogs seized from Marquis Nodd, accused of animal abuse and fighting, to be returned to his Trinity Gardens home. The dogs were removed in May by City of Mobile Animal Services amid 118 criminal charges against Nodd. Animal rights activist Tracey Glover, Executive Director of ARC, expressed confusion and concern over returning dogs to an alleged abuser, fearing for their welfare. Shelter overcrowding may have influenced the decision. The court order requires Nodd to vaccinate and care for the dogs under Animal Services’ year-long monitoring. Authorities have not explained the rationale behind the ruling.
A judge’s decision to return 30 out of 34 dogs to a man facing more than 100 animal abuse charges is sparking outrage and confusion in Mobile.

With the steel and substructure complete, work now focuses on the concrete deck and approaches. This new span, along with the $30 million SR-161 connector and plans to widen SR-180, aims to enhance traffic flow, emergency access, evacuation routes, and local economic growth.
