SUMMARY: Federal court documents reveal details of a 48-hour crime spree by 34-year-old Jeremy Alexander Smith, who faces 17 charges, including the murders of two public servants: Florence County paramedic Phenicia Machado and a New Mexico State Police officer. Described as a “cold-blooded murderer,” Smith’s criminal history began at age 16. Reports indicate he kidnapped, carjacked, and shot Machado before traveling to New Mexico and killing the officer.
