SUMMARY: Today in East Tennessee, temperatures reached 86°F, marking the first day with an average high of 85°F. This average will gradually decrease to the upper 70s by the month’s end. September is usually dry, but only 0.03 inches of rain has fallen so far, creating a deficit and worsening drought conditions. A cold front moving in may bring scattered showers tomorrow morning, but clear skies and breezy conditions will follow, with winds gusting up to 25 mph. Cooler air will move in, leading to Sunday morning lows in the mid-40s to low 50s before temperatures rise back into the 80s by midweek.

Fall-like temps arrive this weekend as a cold front sweeps through tomorrow! Looking ahead, most of next week will continue to be dry with a gradual warming trend.

His defense attorneys argue he was legally insane during the shooting and unable to form intent for first-degree murder. Currently serving life in prison, Ranking’s defense claims he was denied a fair chance to present evidence of his mental illness. Prosecutors maintain the attack was calculated, not due to insanity. Mental health experts testified Ranking suffers from schizophrenia and neurocognitive deficits, describing him as delusional and paranoid, believing Waffle House patrons were CIA operatives targeting him.
