SUMMARY: Southern West Virginia’s Monday evening is warm with scattered showers and storms, especially near Bluefield and northeastern areas like Morgantown. Temperatures range from 73° in Wheeling to 90° in Huntington, with southwest winds at 6 mph and 66% humidity. Showers and thunderstorms moving in from southwest Kentucky will bring heavier rain Tuesday afternoon through evening, possibly causing flooding and damaging winds, mainly in northern parts. Clearing begins Wednesday with high pressure bringing nice weather through Thursday and a pleasant July 4th forecast near 86°. Temperatures will peak near 90° Saturday before cooling slightly over the weekend.

It is a partly cloudy afternoon, and there are some scattered storms around as well. Much better chances for rain are in the forecast tomorrow, but pleasant weather is on tap for our holiday weekend.
