Chicago planes nearly collide on runway | FOX 5 News
SUMMARY: A near-collision incident occurred at Chicago’s Midway International Airport involving a Southwest Airlines jet and a private plane. RCSS: Students showed growth on Georgia Milestones Assessments for 2024-2025
SUMMARY: The Richmond County School System (RCSS) in Augusta, Ga., saw systemwide improvements on the 2024-2025 Georgia Milestones tests, with over 13,000 students tested. Gains were noted on End of Course assessments in Algebra I, American literature, and biology. Grades 4-8 showed math growth on End of Grade tests; fifth graders improved in science, and eighth graders in science and social studies. Multiple schools reported subject gains, including Cross Creek, Glenn Hills, Hephzibah, and the Academy of Richmond County. Interim superintendent Dr. Malinda Cobb credited students, teachers, leaders, and families for their hard work and commitment reflected in these results.

Video shows plane crash in Brookhaven | FOX 5 News
SUMMARY: A small plane crashed in Brookhaven near DeKalb-Peachtree Airport during a flight training session early Saturday morning. The aircraft, registered to All To Fly Flight School, took off Friday night, flew to Rome, and was performing touch-and-go landings on return when it hit trees and landed in a backyard on Claremont Road. All three occupants survived, were conscious and breathing upon hospital transport, and no neighborhood residents were injured. The cause remains unclear, with the National Transportation Safety Board investigating. A pilot noted the difficulty of night landings due to poor visibility and lack of runway lighting.

Mother of fallen officer killed in CDC shooting speaks on son’s willingness to help others
SUMMARY: The mother of Officer David Rose, killed responding to the CDC shooting, describes her son as fearless and dedicated to helping others. After serving in the Marines and working at the sheriff’s department, Rose joined the DeKalb County Police for a more rewarding role. He leaves behind a pregnant wife and three children.
