Hello, I’m Anna Claire Perrone with the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce, and I’m here to introduce this month’s chamber member spotlight. Let’s take a look!
Lacey:
Hi, I’m Lacey from Dapper Dog Grooming, one of the co-owners, along with Nikki. We started our business in January of 2023. We are located on Jeff Davis Avenue at 206 Suite 104.
We offer bath, brush, nails, ears, glands, haircut and brushout. We also offer low-shed packages where we de-shed your dog. We also offer express grooms. We do puppy trims. We offer a tranquil and quiet environment for your pup. We try to keep them as comfortable as possible and we like to make friends with your babies so they become like family to us.
Our hours are 8am to 3pm. We are closed Wednesdays and Sundays and we’re open every other Saturday.
Please call to make an appointment at 228-678-7265. Visit us on Facebook to see pictures of our finished fur babies and then information that may be coming up later on in the year.
Anna Claire:
On behalf of WXXV and the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber, we would like to congratulate Dapper Dog Grooming on their business success.

Digital Desk: Scattered showers and storms expected this afternoon (6/15/25)
SUMMARY: Good morning South Mississippi, and happy Father’s Day! It’s a nice start with mostly clear skies and temperatures in the 70s and 80s. Expect increasing cloud cover and scattered showers and storms developing by the afternoon, especially around 2 to 3 PM. Some storms may produce frequent lightning, small hail, and gusty winds up to 40-50 mph, but no severe weather is expected. Rain chances continue through midweek, easing by Thursday or Friday as a high-pressure ridge strengthens, bringing lower rain chances and hotter temperatures. No tropical activity is expected in the Gulf or Atlantic over the next seven days.
Meteorologist Aaron Colby has an update on your Father’s Day forecast. He details the expected scattered showers and storms this afternoon.

Digital Desk: Possible showers and storms Saturday afternoon (6/14/25)

Mississippi shrimp season to open soon
SUMMARY: The Mississippi shrimp season is set to open soon, though the exact date could be postponed depending on sampling results. The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources (MDMR) requires that anyone transporting shrimp from Mississippi waters be licensed before entering the water. MDMR will continue sampling prior to the season opening to monitor shrimp movement. If sampling indicates a large movement of juvenile brown shrimp into the area, the season start may be delayed. Rain chances are expected this weekend, but shrimp transport regulations and monitoring remain in effect to ensure a responsible harvest.
Shrimpers will be able to drop their nets in state territorial waters at 6 a.m. on Monday, June 23.
