Breezy and cold Thursday
SUMMARY: Today’s weather forecast indicates a chilly morning starting at 28°F, dropping to around 21°F by 9 AM due to an Arctic front and gusty northwesterly winds. A slight chance of flurries exists, especially around downtown and the I-64 corridor, but they are expected to diminish. Wind chills may make it feel like single digits in some areas. Afternoon highs are projected in the mid to upper 30s, with temperatures dropping into the teens tonight. A warming trend is expected over the weekend, with rain returning by Sunday night and scattered showers on Tuesday.
WLKY Meteorologist Matt Milosevich has the latest on Arctic air moving into the Ohio Valley, and how long the cold temperatures stick around.

Trump’s new Justice Department leadership orders a freeze on civil rights cases
SUMMARY: President Trump’s new Justice Department leadership has imposed a freeze on civil rights litigation and is reconsidering police reform agreements made by the Biden administration, as revealed in two obtained memos. Attorneys in the Civil Rights Division were instructed not to file new complaints or briefs until further notice. The memos indicate a potential abandonment of recent consent decrees in Louisville and Minneapolis, which were established to address civil rights violations following high-profile incidents involving police. The changes signal a shift in priorities under Trump, continuing a trend from his first administration toward restricting the use of consent decrees.
