Since the damage didn’t meet state funding thresholds, a local nonprofit created a Business Storm Relief Fund, raising over $21,000 to support the hardest-hit businesses. Additionally, restoration funds are allocated to historic courthouse grounds, highlighting ongoing efforts to preserve and rebuild Athens.

Nearly 5 months to the day since a tornado came through downtown Athens, businesses that were damaged are getting some relief.
