Austin transportation projects are at risk amid federal funding cuts | FOX 7 Austin

Biro’s early header lifts Austin to 1-0 win over powerhouse LAFC

Solar and wind generation continue to grow
SUMMARY: Texas remains a leader in solar and wind energy, ranking second in solar generation in 2024, behind California, and leading the nation in wind energy. Solar and wind combined accounted for 17% of U.S. electricity generation in 2024, a significant increase from 2015. Texas generated 30% of its electricity from clean sources, with wind power making up 28% of the nation’s total. Solar and wind energy now power millions of homes and are key to meeting rising electricity demand while reducing pollutants. This growth has also driven the creation of clean energy jobs, adding 149,000 positions in 2024.

HPD update: 5 people arrested, including 3 juveniles, after officers stop stolen car
SUMMARY: Five people, including three juveniles, were arrested after a stolen car was stopped by Houston police. Officers located the vehicle, which had been involved in a hit-and-run earlier in the day, and attempted to detain the occupants. Two juveniles were immediately taken into custody, while three others fled, with one juvenile displaying a firearm. An officer discharged his weapon once, but no one was injured. The fleeing suspects were apprehended, with one sustaining a minor injury during a canine encounter. The investigation continues, and body camera footage will be released within 30 days.

HPD said officers conducted a traffic stop on the stolen car, which had been in a hit-and-run.
