Austin crime: Artificial intelligence and child exploitation | FOX 7 Austin
SUMMARY: Austin police arrested 19-year-old Jack Bellington for posting AI-generated pornographic images of female juveniles on X. Bellington paid someone overseas to alter photos of underage girls, creating nearly 100 illicit images. This crime, increasingly common with generative AI, challenges law enforcement as it becomes harder to identify altered photos. Eleven victims have been identified. In 2024, reports involving AI imagery increased by 1300%, prompting Texas lawmakers to include AI-modified images in child pornography laws. Bellington faces multiple felony charges and was released on the condition he avoid social media, continue therapy, take medication, and have no contact with minors.
Austin police have arrested a man who they say posted AI generated explicit photos of female juveniles on social media. Police say they’ve seen an increase in this type of crime in recent years.

Sarkisian calls on high school, college coaches to 'corral' Texas in recruiting
SUMMARY: Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian emphasized at the Texas High School Coaches Association convention the shared responsibility of all Texas coaches to retain local football talent within the state. Despite having recruited 19 Texas players among a national-best 23 drafted over two seasons, Sarkisian acknowledged that many top prospects leave for schools out of state. He praised programs like Texas A&M, SMU, Texas Tech, Baylor, and Houston for their efforts to keep talent grounded locally. Sarkisian stressed balancing recruiting Texas players and seeking talent nationwide to build a championship-caliber roster while encouraging kids to stay in Texas.

The documents suggest officials initially doubted Russia’s ability to affect election infrastructure via cyber means. After a December 2016 National Security Council meeting, leaks claimed Russian interference favored Trump. Gabbard called this a manufactured intelligence report that fueled a coup against Trump. Democrats reject these claims, citing a 2020 Senate Intelligence Committee report confirming Russian interference but no vote manipulation. Meanwhile, Fox News also covered unrelated breaking news, including lawsuits, prisoner swaps, and a car attack in Los Angeles.
