SUMMARY: The American Red Cross unveiled its new regional headquarters in downtown Louisville, a state-of-the-art facility consolidating all Red Cross services in one location. Designed to handle various emergencies efficiently, the building features a modern blood donation center with 12 beds for blood, plasma, and Power Red donations. This upgrade comes after Louisville faced 15 federally declared disasters in five and a half years, with five occurring this year alone. The new center enables rapid mobilization and deployment of volunteers for logistics, feeding, and sheltering roles, significantly improving disaster response times and coordination throughout the state.
