Settlement rejected in George Robinson case
SUMMARY: The family of George Robinson has rejected a settlement in a wrongful death lawsuit filed against the city of Jackson after the city violated their confidentiality agreement. They had initially agreed to settle for $17,000 due to the city's financial situation, but the family learned that the city had disclosed the settlement amount, violating their agreement. Robinson died in 2019 after an encounter with Jackson police officers Anthony Fox, Desmond Berry, and Lincoln Lampley. Fox was convicted of culpable negligence manslaughter in Robinson's death. The family is now apprehensive about the city and the mediation process.
