Will the Mississippi Medicaid stalemate end?
SUMMARY: Negotiations are ongoing at the State Capitol over Medicaid expansion in Mississippi. The House is willing to compromise on the number of people covered but wants to secure federal matching dollars. Democrats are pushing for more federal funds to benefit struggling state hospitals. There is pressure to pass a measure that could override a potential veto before the session ends on May 5th, as Mississippi is one of the few states that has not expanded Medicaid.
