Meridian man pleads guilty to trafficking cocaine in Rankin County
SUMMARY: A man from Meridian has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for trafficking 84 grams of cocaine. The suspect was arrested last year during a traffic stop, where police discovered cocaine, suspected ecstasy, marijuana, THC wax, and drug paraphernalia in his vehicle. Woman carjacked on Raymond Road

19-year-old charged in Jackson murder appears in court
SUMMARY: 19-year-old Valencia Jones appeared in court in Jackson, accused of killing 40-year-old Lloyd Ashley in early April. Charge downgraded for teen charged in death of 14-year-old in Jackson
SUMMARY: A 15-year-old boy, Siyaski Crawford, had his murder charge downgraded to accessory after the fact to murder in connection to the killing of 14-year-old Cameron Horne-Crook in Jackson, Mississippi. Crawford's bond was set at $75,000, with a curfew of 6:00 p.m. and a requirement to attend school. Two other teenagers, Maxle Mooneyham, and John Foote, were charged with murder in the case, with Mooneyham's bond set at $1.5 million and Foote denied bond.
