LIVE: First Alert 10 a.m. update on Tropical Storm Francine
SUMMARY: Tropical Storm Francine is expected to intensify into a hurricane later today. Impacts will primarily affect the area between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning, bringing light rain that will increase significantly. Rainfall could reach 3 to 5 inches in some areas, leading to potential flash flooding, especially in southern and central counties. Wind gusts may hit 45 mph, posing risks to weak trees and power lines. While a low threat of small spin-up tornadoes exists, the storm will be fast-moving. After Thursday, a pleasant weekend is anticipated, with highs in the upper 80s.
