Jefferson County man sentenced to nearly 25 years for selling methamphetamine, possessing firearms

A Jefferson County felon has been to serve 295 months in federal prison for several charges connected to a drug trafficking scheme.

The man, 50-year-old Boris Ward, was found guilty of possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a previously convicted felon, and possessing firearms in furtherance of a drug trafficking .

According to court documents and evidence, Ward made two sales of methamphetamine in Jefferson County on June 1 and June 13 in 2018.

After the sale, the Mississippi of Narcotics and other agencies executed a search warrant at Ward's residence and recovered 10 firearms and over a half kilogram of 100 percent pure methamphetamine.

At the time, Ward had been previously convicted in Cook County, Illinois, of two counts of armed robbery, two counts of attempted murder, and distribution of cocaine.
