Two arrested for Copiah County homicide
SUMMARY: Pat Ty ra Bridges has been arrested in Adams County as the second suspect in the death of a 53-year-old man from Kapaya County. Bridges was found at his girlfriend's mobile home and taken into custody without incident. He is facing charges of kidnapping and murder in connection to the death of Bill Ray Jones. Jones was reported missing and later found on the side of the road with his body partially burned. Another suspect, Matthew Nelson, is already in custody facing the same charges. The arrest came after a call from Kapaya County Sheriff Byron Swillie providing the address of Bridges.

SUMMARY: Rush Soccer Club is a prominent youth soccer club with teams in every state. Ariana Fifer from Tennessee was selected for the national team through Rush Select, playing internationally in Manchester and London. Despite a leg injury in 2021, she returned to the field with determination. Fifer is thrilled to be back on the field after overcoming adversity. The national team has played two games and will have their last game soon. Fifer's resilience and passion for soccer have helped her reach her current success, showcasing her talent on a national level.

Tupelo moves one of its storm shelters
SUMMARY: The storm shelter at Balor Park in Tupelo has been relocated due to Park Improvement projects. It can now be found at 3775 Westgate Drive, near the Maintenance Shop and with easy parking access. This shelter, like many others in the city, offers safety during severe weather. It is located at the back of Ballard Park, off Coley Road, and close to the bank and Sportsplex. Residents are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the new location to ensure quick access during emergencies. Stay informed and prepared for any future storms in Tupelo.
Tupelo Parks and Recreation said construction at Ballard Park has forced the city to move one of its storm shelters.
