Laurel adding 2 used fire trucks to fleet
SUMMARY: The Laurel Fire Department is adding two fire trucks to its fleet, one for Engine 6 and another for the reserve fleet, each costing approximately $50,000. The city council approved the purchase following the recent fire damage to Engine 6’s truck. Although the insurance settlement did not cover a new truck, it allowed for the acquisition of two used trucks in excellent condition. The mayor confirmed that they already possess the titles for the trucks, which are expected to be shipped soon.
