Diddy trial: Defense challenges witness over timeline of alleged incidents, questions credibility
SUMMARY: Shawn Diddy Combmes’s federal sex trafficking trial saw courtroom drama as the judge warned him twice for interacting with the jury through facial expressions and nodding, threatening removal if it continued. During testimony, a friend of Cassie Ventura stated Combmes once dangled her over a balcony. The defense challenged the timeline, claiming Combmes was on the East Coast during the incident. Another accuser, “Jane,” testified about a controlling, drug-filled relationship from 2021-2024, describing feeling trapped and financially supported by Combmes, which the prosecution argues is a tactic to lure victims. Jane’s testimony is set to continue Friday.
Sean “Diddy” Combs’ federal sex trafficking trial kicked off with some drama Thursday. Judge Subramanian issued a warning to the defense team, saying that if Combs continued to try and interact with the jury, he might exclude him from being in the courtroom. Judge Subramanian said he saw Combs on two different occasions during testimony, looking at the jury and nodding vigorously. He told the defense that if it happens again, he could remove Combs.

Stanko is executed after clemency is denied
SUMMARY: Stephen Stanko, 57, was executed by lethal injection in South Carolina for two 2005 murders: he shot a friend in Horry County and killed his girlfriend in Georgetown County after raping her daughter, who survived a throat-slashing. Stanko apologized in a final statement and asked not to be judged by his worst day. His execution, South Carolina’s sixth in nine months, followed a brief halt due to drug availability. He declined the firing squad after concerns arose from a prior execution. Appeals and a clemency request were denied. Victims’ families and his lawyer witnessed the execution. He died 28 minutes after it began.

Hammerhead shark falls from sky onto disc golf course in Myrtle Beach
SUMMARY: In Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, disc golfers witnessed a baby hammerhead shark fall from the sky during a game at Splinter City Disc Golf Course. Jonathan Marlowe and friends saw an osprey carrying prey before it dropped the baby shark, about one foot long, after being chased by crows. The group was stunned by the rare sight, as hammerhead sharks are not commonly seen on land. Located near Myrtle Beach State Park and close to the ocean, the group debated helping the shark but doubted it would survive the trip back. Local wildlife, including snakes and raccoons, is frequently seen at the course.
