Colin Stough and Zachariah Smith advance to ‘American Idol’ top 12
The American Idol journey is continuing for both Colin Stough and Zachariah Smith as the two Mississippi residents found out Monday night that they had made it into the competition's top 12.
During the episode, in which eight contestants were eventually eliminated, Stough was the fifth artist to advance. The news from voters came after an underwhelming performance Sunday left the judges asking for more of Stough.

SUMMARY: Willard Geven Knight, a Mississippi man, was sentenced to 50 years without parole for multiple counts of child exploitation. A 2023 investigation revealed Knight was using social networks to traffic child pornography. Law enforcement agencies, including Homeland Security, apprehended Knight at his home in Wesson, where electronic devices with child pornography were found. Knight was already a registered sex offender on supervised probation for a 2015 conviction. Upon pleading guilty to the new charges, Knight will serve a total of 50 years in prison. The judge revoked the suspended portion of his previous sentence and ordered him to serve the entirety.
